The Suzhou Writing Workshop
After much discussion, the Shanghai Writing Workshop is proud to announce the start of the Suzhou Writing Workshop. As a affiliate organization, they will be able to serve the literary community of Suzhou and continue the workshop’s mission of creating better writers, developing a literary community, and offering educational opportunities to both writers and the general public.
Steve Howrie, author and organizer of the Suzhou Writers Workshop, describes the organization as a new group of local writers who meet downtown every month. They have varied backgrounds in creative writing, but a common interest in expanding and improving their writing skills – and getting published. Writing projects are set each month, and meetings will include fun starters; sharing of writings, and discussions on topics such as self-publishing, novel writing, and marketing.
They meet once a month in downtown Suzhou. Feel free to bring pieces on the theme of loneliness and isolation, 2000 words max in any genre.
To join the wechat, talk to Ry (WeChat ID is texaswriter) or email the workshop at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Feel free to pass this along to anyone in Suzhou that you feel might be interested and let’s grow another great literary community.
