How Starting an Unlikely Organization Developed my Creative Writing | Ryan Thorpe | TEDxSHSID Youth
Writing books is hard and unnatural. The creative process only gets more complicated when you move to another country and try to start your life over. For one writer, updating his viewpoint on education also altered his writing and demonstrates how a different approach can sometimes change everything. Now, Dr. Ryan Thorpe is a endowed writing professor at the UM-SJTU Joint Institute, but this talk follows his missteps before he found his calling as both an educator and a creative writer. With a little innovation and by abandoning assumptions about what education had to be, he founded the largest English literary organization in China.
